The evaluation team determined the effectiveness and efficiency of the programme related to objectives, results and planned impact. SUMMARY OF THE CONSULTANCY
LWB provided Technical Assistance to the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (WSSSRP), financed by the EU, in Nigeria, effectively managing the programme. Designs 42 urban and small town water systems in Kano, Jigawa and Yobe states were completed in collaboration the water companies and the private sector in only 8 months. An analysis of the environmental impact, focused on the river basins, was also implemented.

A USAID/Haiti financed diagnosis of water and sanitation needs was completed in peri-urban poor communities of Haiti, in cooperation with the National Drinking Water Service (SNEP). SUMMARY OF THE CONSULTANCY LWB implemented a study of the hygiene and sanitation practices among poor families of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia financed by the World Bank. The environmental health status of the population in the peri-urban poor areas was studied in order to determine service expansion and education priorities for the service providers.

SUMMARY OF THE CONSULTANCY A detailed anthropological study about the use of ecological latrines in the Andean zones of Bolivia was completed for UNICEF. The results of this study were presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Sanitation, Dongsheng/China (27 Aug – 1 Sep 2007) by the LWB technical director, Leonardo Sanabria in response to an invitation from the Stockholm Institute of Environment.
